The Joint Committee on Surgical Training (JCST) is an intercollegiate advisory body which acts on behalf of the four surgical Royal Colleges of the UK and Ireland. It is committed to developing, promoting and ensuring the highest possible standards of surgical training for the benefit of patients.
We are seeking to appoint one exceptional individual to lead a key area of the JCST’s research work under the overall direction of the JCST Chair.
JCST Research Lead
A strong commitment to research focussed on evaluating and improving surgical training is central to this role. The Research Lead will provide clinical leadership for this activity, developing a JCST research strategy and overseeing its delivery, and supporting JCST’s overall strategic goals.
Applicants should be established academic clinicians with a proven track record of clinical research activity within medicine or surgery and specifically a strong track record in research using large data sets or ‘big data’. Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills are also essential.
