Winner Richard Huynh said:

I’m delighted to have won. I’m seriously considering a career in surgery so this has been a real boost for me and I’m really proud. The competition was fantastic. There was a great buzz amongst all the students and it was a really fun day with lots of opportunities to learn from some very distinguished surgeons who were on hand throughout the challenges. I’d encourage anyone who’s considering entering next year’s competition to go for it.
