Supporting Indigenous education and success is critical to Canada’s reconciliation journey. Indigenous peoples and their communities play a big part in Canada’s rich history, present, and future, yet access to education and opportunity remains a challenge for Indigenous youth. Indspire has taken on the challenge in transforming how Indigenous students are supported.
Indigenous Education is Canada’s Future
Indspire’s mission is: “Supporting the educational journey so that every Indigenous student will graduate..”? In partnership with Indigenous, private, and public sector stakeholders, Indspire works to educate, connect and invest in Indigenous people so they can achieve their highest potential.
Since 2004, Indspire has become one of the biggest charities in Canada that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people all in the hopes of sustaining success and opportunities for Indigenous youth, their families, and communities.
Since 1996, Indspire has provided over $190 million in financial support through their Building Brighter Futures (BBF) program. The BBF program provides grants, scholarships, or apprenticeships across different programs nationwide to help Indigenous students succeed in their studies and to complete their post-secondary education or skilled trades program. The program has awarded over 59,000 bursaries, scholarships and awards to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students.
We are proud to be part of this journey with Indspire as they continue their critical work of ensuring that Indigenous youth are supported and empowered.
Through Indigenous education and by inspiring achievement, Indspire is helping Canada’s Indigenous youth to seize opportunities and ensure academic success for generations to come.
